International Sand Sculpture Festival 2011

This year’s theme gives the artists a fantastic opportunity to make the most of the art form's potential.
The art works will offer sights never before seen in Denmark.

Last year the sand sculpture festival was visited by nearly 100,000 guests, who all had an entirely new and unique experience.

This year’s theme, “The Roman Empire and Its Rulers”, will be related by a number of four-metre-high individual sculptures and two gigantic sculpture walls with a height of seven metres.

Together, the two sculpture walls will have a length of 130 metres and they will create a gigantic frame around the nine individual sculptures.
The ancient Romans were innovative in many ways, and we will use elements from modern technology in our interpretation of their history.
